
Rev. Ming-Yung Chuan, who prefers to be called Ibi, is a Taiwanese Indigenous minister from the Bunun Nation. He currently serves as a Regional Minister with the Pacific Mountain Regional Council of The United Church of Canada. Ibi received his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and Master of Divinity from Yu-Shan Theological College and Seminary in Taiwan, and a Master of Theology in Homiletics from Vancouver School of Theology. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree through Carey Theological College. Ibi is passionate about theological conversation, preaching, intercultural and digital ministry, and exploring how biblical texts speak to our changing world. He is committed to inclusive and affirming ministry and enjoys working with communities of faith as they discover their identity, gifts, and ways of being Church together. Ibi’s ministry and life continue to be deeply supported by his wife and children, friends, colleagues, and the wider United Church community.
